Position: Talent & Operations Intern                                                              Reports to: Talent Director & Operations Director

 

Description

The United Schools Network (USN) is a nonprofit organization that starts and manages urban charter public schools that close the achievement gap and prepare low-income students to graduate from college. The network includes two high-performing middle schools, and two high-performing elementary schools. We are seeking a Talent and Operations Intern to provide support to the Talent Director and Operations Director.

        Admission is open to all students; academic proficiency is not considered during the admissions process.

        75% of our students are students of color and 90% are economically disadvantaged.

        USN schools serve students in grades K-8 and have a robust alumni services program.

        USN 8th graders regularly gain acceptance to the top high school programs in the city.

 

Joining Our Team

United Schools Network will consider hiring a part-time Talent & Operations Intern who:            

 

Talent Support

        Regularly updates talent and human resource related databases.

        Assists in the preparation of new hire paperwork.

        Researches and collects data for various talent and human resource initiatives.

        Actively maintains employee files to ensure accuracy. Includes printing, copying, scanning, assembly, shredding, and distribution of documents.

        Resolves issues related to employee files (as directed by Talent Director).

 

Operations Support

        Efficiently handles printing, copying, scanning, assembly, shredding, and distribution of documents as needed.

        Manages USN meeting spaces, making sure they are prepared for guests.

        Manages the purchase request process for the Home Office.

        Efficiently schedules, manages the budget for, and carries out logistics for network events. Ensures each event is documented and conducts event debriefs for continuous improvement.


Other duties as assigned by the Talent Director & Operations Director

Experience & Qualifications

United Schools Network will consider hiring a part-time Talent & Operations Intern who:

        Has strong interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with team members.

        Capacity to excel working with a team as well as independently, and to adapt to a rapidly changing environment with emotional constancy.

        Demonstrated personal commitment to and enthusiasm for USN’s mission.

        Bachelor’s degree preferred; 1-2 year minimum of office experience preferred (internships qualify).

        Technological proficiency in Google and Microsoft Office. 

 

Terms of Employment

Resumes for this position will be considered immediately, and the job will remain posted until filled.  This is a paid, part-time internship (20 hours per week). The Talent & Operations Intern will be eligible to participate in either Ohio’s State Teacher Retirement System or School Employee Retirement System.
