The Title I Intervention Teacher is passionate about supporting the students who are at-risk for academic underperformance.  A successful teacher in this position will have the drive to “do whatever it takes” to make sure each student is successful and can meet the expectations of a rigorous curriculum.  The Title I Intervention Teacher will provide targeted instruction to students individually or in small groups. This teacher will be held accountable to the learning outcomes of each student identified for services.  The Title I Intervention Teacher will be responsible for compliance with all state and federal guidelines. This position will report to the Principal.


Essential Job Functions: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Academic Support

Ensure that all students have access to a college preparatory education.

  • Works with teacher to adapt the curriculum to provide individual, small group or remedial instruction to meet academic standards.
  • Collaborate with teachers, Special Education teachers, Principal and other important stakeholders on a regular basis to monitor the progress of students.
  • May be assigned to teach small group language arts and/or math lessons.
  • May conduct pull-out sessions with a select group of students.
  • May push-into classrooms with the explicit purpose of helping specific/eligible students.

Case Management

Ensure that learning targets and corresponding plans are well organized and well managed.

  • Collect all relevant academic achievement documentation/data on a strategic and on-going basis.
  • Manage data on support hours delivered to each student.
  • Develop agendas and lead regular Title Team meetings.
  • Organize and maintain all Title files and related compliance documentation.


Build systems that facilitate effective and efficient delivery of academic support.

  • Ensure that all Title goals and needs are thoroughly reviewed and analyzed in a timely manner.
  • Schedule Title intervention review meetings.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers on learning goals for identified students.
  • Conduct necessary parent meetings and incorporate parent requests.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Valid OH teaching certificate/license or must be in the process of obtaining a valid OH teaching certificate/license in subject area to be taught
